When Life Doesn’t Go As Planned
Sunday May 21, 2023
Sunday May 21, 2023
I'm here for you. I'm listening.
I know that life can be tough. There are always going to be challenges and obstacles in our way. But it's important to remember that you're not alone. We all go through tough times. And we all have the power to overcome them.
One of the biggest challenges we face is the "should's." We all have a list of things we think we "should" be doing. We should be working harder. We should be making more money. We should be in a better relationship. We should be thinner. We should be happier.
But the truth is, we can't always live up to our own expectations. And that's okay. It's okay to not be perfect. It's okay to make mistakes. It's okay to not have it all figured out.
The most important thing is to be kind to yourself. Forgive yourself for your mistakes. And don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it.
I'm here for you. I'm listening. And I know that you're not alone.
Here are some tips for dealing with the "should's":
- Acknowledge your feelings. It's okay to feel frustrated, angry, or disappointed. Allow yourself to feel your emotions, but don't dwell on them.
- Challenge your thoughts. Ask yourself if your "should's" are realistic and achievable. Are you setting yourself up for failure?
- Set realistic goals. Instead of focusing on all the things you "should" be doing, focus on one or two things you can realistically achieve.
- Be kind to yourself. Forgive yourself for your mistakes and don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it.
Remember, you're not alone. We all go through tough times. And we all have the power to overcome them.

56. Unblock The Walls And Open The Doors Into Meditation
Sunday Nov 27, 2022
Sunday Nov 27, 2022
In this episode I explore the parts of the Self to better understand our human condition.
How long do we sit and look at the past ? As long as it takes. I was thinking yesterday how these last 5 months have shaped me more and I feel grateful to explore the possibilities and of being “alone”. I can’t imagine relationship hopping anymore, dragging old stuff into the new, no intention and just the mess that it creates internally. Have I done this yes? SO i feel I can speak on it now knowing the other way. Without looking, you can’t see and learn the lessons and also it's harming to yourself and another person. It speaks so opposite of mindfulness and meditation when we hop to avoid feelings. After this episode, you will know more about exploring the different parts of yourself, why it’s okay to do so, what meditation brings to this exploration and how you can do it yourself. This episode was an honor to create. Meet my friend Danielle Laurent. She grew up in a small town in Northern California, and life took her abroad to where she now resides in England. You will really want to hear her story how she began mindfulness and meditation and I know that you will resonate with her sharing. he does a lot of the heavy lifting for us to day to get more clarity in our own lives.
Making in a mindful way helped Danielle to reconnect to herself and begin to heal her anxiety.
Using this experience to help others, Danielle created Making Blue Sky, which is about bringing creativity and mindfulness together with a touch of wonder, to help others find their inner calm and return home to themselves.
Coming this summer, Making Blue Sky will be releasing Kindfulness Card Kits. Stitch mindfully for yourself then send some kindness to someone else. To learn more you can find Danielle on Instagram @makingbluesky.
Takeaways with Danielle
- Mindfulness is a gift we can give ourselves in and amongst the madness of life.
- We spend half of our waking life thinking about something else rather than what we are doing. Being able to be focused on the moment will make us happier.
- Every moment can be a moment of mindfulness.
- Experience mindfulness through something you love, and it will make it easier to do it more often. This sets the stage for the tools to be there when you need them most in real life.
- Finding yourself doesn’t happen fast and you don’t need the mantra “power through”. Being gentle with yourself and allowing in kindness can help you evolve past it.
- Trust the process.
- Remember there is always a thought before the feeling and the thought can be tiny and the feeling can be huge. Awareness comes from what was the thought that caused this feeling?

#053- So You Hate Meditation? Let's Change That
Monday Apr 26, 2021
Monday Apr 26, 2021
You hate meditation huh? Let's see if we can change that. Here is the purpose and the promise of meditation. The purpose of meditation is to train and develop you into a leader of your life who has the ability to enroll yourself into your own inner power and the magic and transformation that meditation makes available to you leaving you unleashed, as a force of nature, making a difference in the world forever altered in who you know yourself to be and what you are capable of.
The promise that meditation makes available to you is success in who you know yourself to be and what you offer into the world, the ability to create your own awareness all the time, knowing yourself as someone who can stand into human spirit leaving yourself and others empowered and in action on what fulfills their souls the most.
What is the "problem" with meditation?
I can’t sit.
I don’t have time.
I don’t understand it.
My brain never turns off.
I day dream.
I can’t relax.
I find it hard to focus.
I can’t stop thinking.
I don’t feel anything.
“The mind is a bad playground. You don’t want to go there alone.”
Solution:
1. Move— get out of your head. Workout. Walk. Clean.
2. Simplify- We get simple to understand complicated. Get simple for a week to understand complicated
3. Acceptance- Be that of a child. A child doesn’t get mad when they pee their pants. or falls down. Or can’t talk or can’t read.
4. Bridge the gap- Change your language. from I can’t to I can. I hate to I love. What would be possible for you if you gave that up? What would enter into your life? I hate dating. Okay- Then dating will suck. What if you found the right person?
Step outside of that because that is how it will continue to show up for you. Over and over again. Acknowledge that piece inside of you that is protecting you that you yourself created. From whatever happened to you, the walls you built up, the areas in your life you don’t look at because it would all crumble as you know yourself to be. What if it's better than you could imagine?
When we feel safe and at ease we are more likely to notice someone else.
Ever go to a yoga class and you think everyone is looking at you? wrong they are looking at themselves. We are all too busy looking at ourselves.
Consider changing the perspective you have on meditation and you may change how the practice effects you overall.
Enjoy!

#051 Here's An Easy Meditation Focusing on Your Senses with Tyler
Monday Apr 12, 2021
Monday Apr 12, 2021
The question keeps popping up- how do I really do this? The answer is get through those first 30 seconds of resistance. When I taught yoga, the hardest part wasn't participating in class, it was getting to class.
The same goes for meditation. The hardest part will be making yourself practice. Here I chat a little bit more about how to get to "the mat" and give you a small meditation at the end to practice awareness and staying in your body, not your head.
